Smouha president categorically rules out potential Abou-Gabal transfer to Zamalek
Abou-Gabal has featured for Smouha in 23 games in the Egyptian Premier League so far this season.
He had joined Smouha in summer 2016 coming from Zamalek after his contract with the White Knights had expired.
“Zamalek already possess Mahmoud Gennesh and Emad El-Sayed and both are great goalkeepers. Certainly Abou-Gabal’s move there will make it difficult for him to participate,” Amer told ON Sport FM.
“I turned down the chance to sign an international goalkeeper due to Abou-Gabal’s presence and to give him the chance to feature in order to get called for the national team.”
“During my talks with that goalkeeper had the condition of playing consistently but I refused out of respect for Abou-Gabal and because the decision of participating in games is up to the goalkeepers coach.”
