EFA postpone Zamalek vs Arab Contractors game


The Egyptian Football Association’s () competitions committee announced that the vs Arab Contractors in the has been postponed.

Zamalek were set to face Arab Contractors on Thursday March 14 in the Egyptian Premier League. However the Whites demanded from the EFA to postpone their game due to their Confederations Cup game against NA Hussein Dey three days later.

The White Knights are currently on top of their Confederations Cup group after beating Kenyan side Gor Mahia 4-0 on Sunday. To qualify directly for the quarter-finals they will need a win over Hussein Dey.

The EFA have had their fair share of scheduling problems this season. Especially after Egypt were handed the hosting rights for the 2019 AFCON.

Egyptian side Pyramids FC have already threatened to issue a complaint against Egypt’s football governing body due to their poor organization.

In addition, Al Ahly also released a statement refusing to accept any further scheduling updates issued by the EFA. After the latter changed Egypt’s Cup schedule.

The EFA announced that the game will take place on March 20 instead. Zamalek currently sit on top of the league table with 52 points. As for the Arab Contractors they are sixth with 34 points.
