Referee for Zamalek, NA Hussein Dey clash announced
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) chose Senegalese referee Maguette N’Diaye to officiate Zamalek’s upcoming game against NA Hussein Dey in the Confederations Cup.
Zamalek currently on top of their Confederations Cup group after beating Kenyan side Gor Mahia 4-0 on Sunday. With eight points they’re just one point above second and third-placed Petro Atletico and NA Hussein Day respectively.
To qualify directly for the quarter-finals they will need a win over Hussein Dey, whom they will face on Sunday, March 17.
N’Diaye was in charge of 14 games in several CAF competitions throughout his career such as the Champions League and the U17 AFCON. During these games, he gave away 33 yellow cards, just one red card and five penalties
This season the 32-year-old officiated four games in CAF Champions League, including Al Ahly’s 5-0 win over Simba SC. He was also in charge during Ismaily’s 1-1 draw with TP Mazembe.
His upcoming game will be his first in the CAF Confederations Cup.
