VIDEO: Late Trezeguet heroics lead Kasimpasa to victory over Akhisarspor
Bottom-placed Akhisarspor hosted Kasimpasa, eyeing the three points to escape the relegation zone, while Trezeguet’s side wanted to the victory to get closer to the Europa League qualifications places.
Bangali-Fode Koita belted Kasimpasa into a seventh-minute lead, but a strike from Elvis Manu had Akhisarspor level in the 32nd minute.
The hosts managed to take the lead in the 62nd minute after Jeremy Bokila penalty, and less than 10 minutes later Egypt international Karim Hafez was introduced to the game, replacing Haris Hajradinovic.
Akhisarspor thought they would get the three points, however, Mahmoud Trezeguet had other ideas, assisting and scoring two very late goals to earn Kasimpasa the full three points.
In the 87th minute, Trezeguet played a simple pass to Abdul Khalili, who fired a rocket into the back of Akhisarspor’s net, and seven minutes later, the Egyptian scored the winner from the edge of the penalty area after a fantastic solo run by Karim Hafez.
Trezeguet has now scored eight goals and assisted seven in 26 league games, while Hafez made his only sixth appearance for Kasimpasa after joining them in January.
Kasimpasa currently sit 10th in the Turkish Super Lig table with 34 points, and their next game will be against 17th-placed Erzurum BB on April 7.
