Hamdi Fathi returns as Al Ahly name squad for Sundowns clash
Al Ahly have named their squad for their crucial encounter with  in the first-leg of the quarter-finals.

The Red Devils were drawn against Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League after topping their group, which included Simba SC, JS Saoura, and AS Vita Club.

On the other hand, Sundowns qualified for the knockout rounds as group A runners-up after finishing behind Wydad Casablanca on goal difference.

The first-leg will take place at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa, before both teams face each other again in Cairo a week later.

Al Ahly boss Martin Lasarte has announced his 21-man squad for the game, which saw the return of Ayman Ashraf, Hamdi Fathi, and Mahmoud Wahid after recovering from injuries.

Junior Ajayi, Mohamed Hany, and Saad Samir have also made the squad after missing their side’s Tuesday clash with Ittihad of Alexandria.

Full squad:

Goalkeepers: Mohamed El-Shennawy, Ali Lotfi.

Defenders: Ayman Ashraf, Ali Maaloul, Saad Samir, Ahmed Fathi, Yasser Ibrahim, Mohamed Hany, Mahmoud Wahid, Rami Rabia.

Midfielders: Hossam Ashour, Hussein El-Shahat, Nasser Maher, Amr El-Sulya, Ramadan Sobhi, Karim Nedved, Hamdi Fathi.

Forwards: Marwan Mohsen, Salah Mohsen, Walid Azaro, Junior Ajayi.
