Awad plays full game in Al Wehda’s loss to Al Ahly in Saudi Pro League

Egypt international and Al Wehda’s goalkeeper, , plays full 90 minutes in Al Wehda’s 3-2 defeat to Al Ahli Jeddah.

The game started with intense pressure from the home side, Al Ahli. Syrian international, Omar Al Somah opened the scoresheet in the 18th minute after a tapping in Djaniny’s cross.

Before the end of the first half and from a fast counter attack, Al Ahli managed to double their lead in the 46th minute. Djaniny passes the ball to Stanciu, who hit the ball right into Awad’s net.

Two minutes in the second half, as Al Ahli managed to score their third of the night. A wonderful one-two between Djianiny and Omar Al- Muwashar, who then crossed the ball to Al Somah, who headed it into the net.

In the 71st minute, Al Wehda’s forward Romulo Otero was awarded a penalty, after a strong tackle in side the box. The Venzuelan striker stepped in and manges to score his team’s first goal of the night after sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

Two minutes later, Al Wehda managed to double their lead through former Zamalek striker, Kabongo Kasongo, after going a one-on-one with Al Ahli’s goalkeeper and tapping the ball in the net.

Al Wehda currently lies in the 7th place of the table. The Reds are set to face Qatari side, Al Rayyan this Monday, in the AFC Champions League.
