Ramon Diaz: Pyramids to fight for league title despite competition
Keno’s goal was enough as Pyramids sealed a 1-0 victory against Al Ahly to overtake the Red Devils into the second place.
Pyramids are the joint league leaders along with Zamalek with 60 points but having played two games more than the Whites and their arch rivals Al Ahly, who are behind them with 58 points.
“We expected it to be a tough game because it is against very tough opponent. It was a highly-paced encounter but we succeeded to collect all three points,” Diaz said.
“We had to score more goals. However, we defended well against a strong team and prepared for the match well. We have a shot at the title and we will fight for it, we will try to maintain our chances.”
The Argentine coach took over Pyramids in February 2019 and managed the team in seven league games, holding a very positive record of six wins in addition to one defeat.
“We play each game to win. Competing against big clubs like Al Ahly and Zamalek is a difficult thing but we will try to keep our chances alive till the end.”
