Burnley striker has picked his 2018-2019 and put Liverpool’s on the bench.

Salah has had an outstanding first season with the Reds where he scored 44 goals across all competitions and helped Liverpool reach the Champions League final.

Now, despite having scored 23 goals in 46 games and currently sitting on top of the Premier League’s goalscoring charts, many believe that the Egyptian has had a less impressive succeeding season.

Former England Peter Crouch, who chose Salah as last year’s player of the year, seems to have a different opinion as he put Salah on the bench for his 2018-2019 team of the season.

“I felt terrible leaving out Salah, whose form in the past couple of weeks has gone up a level, and Bernardo Silva in particular but it is not a slight on their efforts,” Crouch wrote in his Daily Mail column.

“We have been fortunate to witness some amazing football over the past eight months. I look forward to reading your own selections,” he added.

Crouch’s TOTY:

Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker (Liverpool)

Defence: Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), Aymeric Laporte (Manchester City), Andrew Robertson (Liverpool).

Midfield: Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Christian Eriksen (Tottenham), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City).

Forwards: Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City), Son Heung-min (Tottenham).

Substitutes: Ederson (Manchester City), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Harry Kane (Tottenham), Bernardo Silva (Manchester City), Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang (Arsenal) and David Silva (Manchester City).

Liverpool are currently on top of the Premier League table with 85 points, two ahead of second-placed Manchester City, who still have a game in hand. They will be hoping to win all of their remaining four games and for Man City to slip to secure the long-awaited Premier League title.
