Mane present in PFA Player of the Year shortlist, Salah excluded

Senegal international has been included in the PFA’s Player of the Year shortlist while was left-out.

The PFA have released a six-man shortlist for the 2018-2019 Player of the Year award, which saw the exclusion of last year’s winner Mohamed Salah.

Salah netted 23 goals for across all competitions and scored 19 in the Premier League, which puts him on top of the goalscoring charts.

On the other hand fellow teammate Sadio Mane, made the list as he has been consistently performing well for the Reds this season. He has been having arguably his best year since joining them, having scored on 18 occasions n the league and providing two assists.

Liverpool centre-back, Virgil Van Dijk also made the cut, making him the only defender in the list.

Manchester City trio Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva, and Raheem Sterling were also included in the list. In addition, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard was also present on the list.

Liverpool and Manchester City are currently battling for the Premier League title with the Citizens sitting second with a game in hand.
