Egypt prepare for AFCON against Tanzania, Guinea

It has been confirmed that will face and during their preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in June on home soil, according to the Egyptian Football Association.

Hosts Egypt were put in a considerably balanced group with DR Congo, Uganda and Zimbabwe, with all three teams possessing strong individual quality.

The Pharaohs will commence the tournament with the opening game against Zimbabwe on June 21 at Cairo International Stadium.

The EFA announced that president Hany Abou-Rida have approved the national team’s program of friendly games ahead of their participation in AFCON.

Egyptian national team manager Ehab Leheita stated that Javier Aguirre’s men will line up against Tanzania and Guinea on June 13 and June 16 respectively at Borg Al Arab Stadium.

Both African team have given their consent to play the amicable games against Egypt after they were contacted, the EFA statement added.
