Zamalek name squad for Étoile du Sahel Confederation Cup clash

Zamalek boss Christian Gross has named his 20-man squad that will face Tunisia’s Étoile Sportive du Sahel in the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Whites qualified for the semis following their 1-0 aggregate victory over Morocco’s Hassania Agadir. They drew 0-0 in Morocco, before winning 1-0 at home, thanks to Ibrahim Hassan’s strike.

On the other hand, Etoile knocked out Sudan’s Al Hilal in the quarter-final after winning 3-1 at home, before clinching a 2-1 win away from home.

The first-leg will take place at Borg El-Arab in Alexandria on April 28, before both teams face each other in Sousse a week later.

Zamalek will have to enter the game without two of their key players in Ferjani Sassi and Khalid Boutaib due to injuries, while Etoile will miss Karim Aribi for suspension.
