Aboutrika reveals he spoke to Salah after his head injury

Egypt legend has revealed that he spoke on the phone with Mohamed Salah after the Liverpool man picked up a head injury against Newcastle.

With last night’s game completely in the balance, there were worrying signs for fans of both Liverpool and of the as it appeared that Salah may be ending another season with injury when he went down following his head colliding with Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

After the game, another of Egypt’s all time great players Mohamed Aboutrika spoke with Salah on the phone. The 40 year old has since provided some details of what they spoke about.

Aboutrika said “I talked to Salah, and he is sound. He has only a mild concussion in his brain. I said to him jokingly, Do you remember me? But he replied that he wanted to forget Dejan Lovren, as he was the source of the pass that caused his injury.”

Liverpool are optimistic that Salah can make a recovery for their next game in a do or die Champions League semi final second leg at home against Barcelona where they are looking to overturn a 3-0 deficit from the match at the Nou Camp.
