Barcelona boss has urged his team to completely forget about the first leg’s result when they line up against Liverpool in the return leg of the Champions League semifinal at Anfield.

Spain giants Barcelona had set a foot in their first Champions League final since 2015 after defeating ’s Liverpool in the first leg of the semifinal at Camp Nou. Goals were scored by Luis Suarez before Leo Messi pulled off some of his magic to score twice for a 3-0 advantage.

Matters have become even more complicated for the Reds after it was confirmed Egypt international  has been ruled out of Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final second leg with Barcelona due to a concussion after his collision with Martin Dubravka during Liverpool’s encounter against Newcastle in the Premier League.

“The result [of the first leg] does not influence us. We have to approach tomorrow [Tuesday] as if we had not played the first leg,” Valverde said in the press conference.

“Any thought that enters our mind about the first match would be a mistake.”

“We want Firmino, Salah and Dembele to recover. They are important players. It would have been nice to see them on the pitch tomorrow.”
