Suarez: Salah in top three of the world, a big miss for Liverpool
Barcelona forward Luis Suarez has praised Mohamed Salah ahead of Tuesday’s clash but insists that Liverpool will not be affected by his absence.
Liverpool go into the match trailing 3-0 from the first leg and will need to score four goals while keeping a clean sheet to advance to a second successive final.
And to make matters worse, the Reds will have to do it without two of their key players in Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino who will miss the game through injuries.
Mohamed Salah was taken off on a stretcher against Newcastle on Saturday following a heavy collision with the opposition’s goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.
Salah received lengthy treatment on the pitch and underwent tests on Sunday, which confirmed that the Egyptian has suffered a concussion and will miss Tuesday’s clash.
On the loss of the Egypt star, Suarez told reporters: “He’s a very important player, in the top three of the world in the last couple of years.
“It’s a big miss for them, but they have players like Origi, Shaqiri, Sturridge who can come in. Quality players,” he added.
The game will take place on Tuesday, May 7 at 21:00 CLT at Anfield, and on Sunday, Liverpool will play their final game of the season at home as they host Wolverhampton Wanderers.
