Egypt international has won the Premier League Golden Boot for the second successive year after netting 22 league goals.

The Liverpool winger will share the award with his teammate and Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who also finished on 22 goals for the campaign.

Salah entered the final day, leading the Golden Boot race with 22 goals, two more than Sergio Aguero, Mane, and Aubameyang, however, he failed to find the net against Wolves.

On the contrary, Senegal’s Sadio Mane bagged a brace as he earned Liverpool a 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at home, which was not enough to clinch the Premier League title.

Despite scoring only once and missing out on the Golden Boot award, Man City forward Sergio Aguero will be the happiest out of the four players, as his side managed to win the Premier League for the sixth time in their history.

Man City were 1-0 down against Brighton at the Falmer Stadium, before Aguero scored the equaliser, and then goals from Laporte, Mahrez, and Gündoğan, secured the league title.

Away from the title decisive games, Gabon and Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang helped the Gunners to an away 3-1 victory over Burnley, scoring a brace.

Aubameyang opened the scoreline after 52 minutes, before doubling his side’s lead 11 minutes later to win the Golden Boot award in his first full Premier League season.

It’s first time in history that three African players share the Golden Boot award, and the only third time that three players share the award.

Salah also now becomes the only third African player to win the Golden Boot in back-to-back seasons in Europe’s top five leagues alongside Tony Yeboah with Frankfurt in 1993 and 1994 and Barcelona legend Samuel Eto’o, who won it with the Catalan giants in 2005 and 2006.
