Ivory Coast legend denied his agent’s claims over the past couple of days regarding his retirement.

On Friday Yaya Toure’s agent, Dimitry Seluk, announced that the former Barcelona midfielder took the decision to officially hang up his boot.

However the 36-year-old came out to contradict his agent’s claims, stating that he hasn’t made the decision to retire yet and is looking to continue his already illustrious career.

“There has been a lot of confusion about my future recently. I want to make it clear here that I love football and I’m still in contention to play for a few more years. Yes, I’m starting to prepare myself for coaching badges but full time coaching is not what I’m thinking now,”

“I am now ready and focused to take new challenges in playing football! And don’t worry once the time has come, I will announce my retirement personally and officially by myself!!” Toure posted on Twitter.

The four-time African Footballer of the Year winner’s most recently moved to Greece to play for Olympiacos where he made only five appearances in three months before terminating his contract.
