Emad El-Sayed saves a penalty kick in Zamalek’s 2-1 victory against relegated El-Dakhleya

Mahmoud Kahraba and Youssef ‘Obama’ both scored in Zamalek’s impressive 2-1 win against El-Dakhleya in the Egyptian Premier League.

The White Knights started on the front foot, as Kahraba managed to break the deadlock just 19 minutes into the game. The talented forward drilled the ball into the bottom corner converting a close range freekick into the back of the net.

Dakhleya tried to level things up in the first half, however, Zamalek maintained organized defence to deny the hosts the equaliser until the half time whistle.

Around the one-hour mark, Mohamed Gamal sent a crossed freekick kick inside box, that was poorly cleared by Zamalek’s defenders to reach Ibrahim Abo El-Yazeed , who fired the ball past Emad El-Sayed leveling things up.

Obama restored the lead for the Whites in the 73rd minute, when he received Mohamed Ibrahim’s defence-splitting long through pass before smashing the ball into the top corner.

Just three minutes later, Zamalek were reduced to ten men as Bahaa Magdy was shown a second yellow card after his aggressive challenge on Ashraf Magdy inside the box, compelling the referee to point to the spot and award El-Dakhleya a penalty kick. El-Sayed saved brilliantly from the spot to secure the full points for Zamalek.

After the win, Zamalek moved to the second spot with 66 points just four points away from league leader Al Ahly. Meanwhile, El-Dakhleya officially relegated from the Egyptian Premier League.
