RS Berkane prepare for Zamalek with thrilling victory over Wydad Casablanca

Moroccan outfit RS Berkane have managed to achieve an intriguing 3-2 victory over in the 28th round of the Moroccan championship Botola.

Despite their exploits in the CAF Confederation Cup, Berkane have struggled in the league this season and currently find themselves in seventh place.

A win would have been sufficient for Wydad to go five points clear off their city rivals Raja and officially claim the league title, but Berkane stood as a stumbling block in their way to achieve that.

Walid El-Karti surprised the hosts after five minutes and scored the opener for Wydad through a header. However, the Oranges responded quickly and scored the equaliser through Mohamed Farhane in the ninth minute for the first half to end on parity.

In the 53rd minute, Berkane completed the result overturn with Omar Nemsaoui making it 2-1 in their favour. 20 minutes later Achraf Dari made it level once again between the two sides, before Togo international Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba refused to be satisfied with the draw and scored the goal which was the winner for Berkane in the 80th minute.

RS Berkane will host Zamalek on the 19th of May in the first leg of the Confederations Cup before facing each other again on the 26th of the same month.
