EFA fine Al Ahly, Smouha, Zamalek due to misconduct
EFA have imposed fines on fans of Al Ahly and Zamalek due to misconduct as well as Smouha staff members Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan.
The last round saw Al Ahly beat Smouha in the dying moments of the game, thanks to Gerlado’s 97th-minute strike, while Zamalek came out 2-1 victorious against El-Dakhleya.
Following Gerlado’s winner, Smouha’s head coach Hossam Hassan and director of football Ibrahim Hassan got into a heated argument with the referee and Al Ahly’s fans.
This led to the fans to insult the twins as well as throw water bottles at them, which made the EFA fine the club EGP 50,000, with the EFA threating them to ban the supporters in case their actions were to be repeated.
On the other hand, Hossam Hassan has been fined EGP 20,000, while staff members Ibrahim Hassan, Hassan Mostafa, and Abd El-Bary El-Meligy has been suspended for two games.
Smouha’s administration manager Walid Badr will also be banned for four games due to inappropriate gestures to Al Ahly’s fans.
Meanwhile, like Al Ahly, Zamalek were also handed an EGP 50,000 fine after their fans threw water bottles at the referee, and the EFA have also threatened the club to ban their supporters in the upcoming games.
Zamalek’s head coach Christian Gross didn’t attend the press conference after his side’s victory, which cost the club an extra EGP 15, 000 fine.
