Mohamed Maarouf to officiate Etoile du Sahel vs Esperance de Tunis
Due to the fierce nature of the rivalry, the Tunisian FA often outsource the refereeing duties to foreign based officials. This is also partly to avoid any potential bias as they are two of the most supported clubs in the country making it very likely that the domestic referees have some sort of allegience.
Known as the Tunisian Clasico, the upcoming match is likely to be meaningless in the grand scheme of things as the league title appears to be in Esperance’s hands as they are 9 points clear with just five games to go.
The match between Etoile du Sahel and Esperance de Tunis takes place on Saturday 18th of May at 4PM Egyptian time.
