legend may be headed for a surprise career move as he is linked with Chinese second tier side Qingdao Huanghai.

The 36 year old has been without a club since being released by Olympiacos last year, where he underwent a second spell after leaving Greece in 2006.

While it appears that Toure’s physical ability may no longer be cut out for the top level, he looks as though he may be headed for a move outsie the spotlight with Qingdao Huanghai in the Chinese second tier.

The club are in the process of changing owners, and it seems that the Shenzhen Hengye Investment Group are looking to make an immediate impact with a big name signing. Their most prominent players to non Chinese fans in their squad are former Espanyol midfielder Joan Verdu and West Ham’s promotion hero Ricardo Vaz Te.

While he would join as a player, Toure has also expressed his desire to coach in the future, saying “I want to make it clear here that I love football and I’m still in contention to play for a few more years. Yes, I’m starting to prepare myself for coaching badges but full-time coaching is not what I’m thinking now.”
