, a footballing Pharaoh, has been unveiled as the official Mascot for 2019 AFCON, which will take place from 21 June to 19 July.

As the competition will be held in Egypt, it is only natural that the branding will be heavily influenced by Egyptian culture.

On a global level, the most instantly recognisable thing about Egypt is the ancient Egyptians and none are more famous than Tutankhamun.

That’s why the AFCON organizing committee has decided that the mascot for the tournament will be a young Pharaoh named Tut.

The committee has also launched an online ticket marketplace called ‘Tazkarti‘, where fans can sign up for a fan ID and purchase tickets for the tournament games.

Fans can either pay for their chosen tickets online with immediate printing options or pick them up from outlets nationwide.

The full tournament will start on June 21st at 10pm local time, as the hosts take on Zimbabwe in Group A.
