HANDBALL: Al Ahly crowned Egyptian Cup champions

Al Ahly have been crowned Egyptian Cup champions following their victory over Tala’ea El-Gaish in the final on Tuesday.

The Reds reached the final after beating Sporting in the semi-finals, while El-Gaish overcame El-Gezira to meet the Cairo giants in the final game.

Al Ahly proved too strong for El-Gaish as they managed to win the game 28-22 after finishing the first-half on top with a scoreline of 16-7.

This becomes Al Ahly’s seventh Egyptian Handball Cup in their history and their first one since 2014, with Zamalek setting the record for most cup wins with 16.
