Laba Kodjo not concerned with Egyptian clubs’ interest, focused on Confederations Cup

RS Berkane striker has acknowledged that Zamalek is one of the greatest teams in Africa ahead of the second leg of the final on Sunday.

Kodjo was the protagonist of the first leg game in Berkane after he allowed RS Berkane fly out to Egypt holding a 1-0 advantage after scoring the winner for his team in the dying minutes.

Zamalek are hosting the second leg of the final next week at Borg El-Arab Stadium in Alexandria as they will be looking for their first CAF Confederations Cup title and Egypt’s second since Al Ahly’s triumph in 2014.

“Zamalek is certainly an enormous club and is among the biggest teams in Africa, but I don’t know their players,” Kodjo told Nile Sport channel.

The Togolese striker has been recently linked with a move to one of Cairo giants Al Ahly and Zamalek, however he is only concentrated on winning the African competition.

“I am not thinking about that [transfer] currently, all my focus is the Confederations Cup. Afterwards I can discuss this matter and whether there are offers or not.”
