Ittihad of Alexandria issue statement regarding league schedule updates

side have released a statement regarding recent league schedule amendments.

The EFA have rescheduled league matches to be played after the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) and most clubs in the league are frustrated by this decision.

League leaders Al Ahly have already expressed their frustration by threatening to forfeit the league, claiming that the schedule amendments are unfair to all league clubs.

Ittihad of Alexandria, who have one game remaining this season against Smouha, have had their say on the matter after releasing an official statement criticising the Egyptian Football Association (EFA).

In their statement, they demand that their last game against Smouha is to be played before the 2019 African Cup of Nations starts in June.

They also criticise the EFA by saying that there is no excuse to postpone the game knowing that this game does not create conflicts for clubs or players participating in other competitions.

Ittihad then conclude their statement by saying that it’s not logical to participate in the league for an additional month and a half to play just one game, which can be arranged at any time before the 2019 AFCON.
