Jorge Jesus wants to return to Portugal amidst Pyramids links
Portuguese manager Jorge Jesus is seemingly focused on a return to his home country despite being linked to the Pyramids job.
The former Benfica, Sporting and Al Hilal coach was one of the front runners to take over as Pyramids manager following the resignation of Ramon Diaz, however it seems that he will pursue a future closer to home.
However, despite his wish to manage in Portugal it appears that Jesus is most strongly linked with Flamengo in the Brazilian league.
The 64 year old said “The conditions [for the Flamengo job] please me. If it was down to the finances, they would have no chance. I have proposals that have no comparison, but I’m not going to look for it. If I’m told that I thought I’d train Flamengo, no. If I’m told that it’s one of the best teams in the world, yes, it’s only ’50 million fans’.”
“The Portuguese clubs are very ambitious. No one is satisfied with top three – there is one who wins, two others who do not, They are well delivered, I would like to return, my goal is to train in Portugal, but I’m not going to work in Portugal this year. Anyone here must have the spirit of confidence to work.”
