Mohamed Salah: I have fulfilled a childhood dream by winning Champions League

Emotional has expressed his delight after winning title with revealing that childhood dream has been fulfilled.

The Egyptian winger scored a penalty in the second minute of the game after Moussa Sissoko had appeared to have handled Sadio Mane’s cross inside the box before Devock Origi scored a second goal in the 87th minute of the game as to secure Liverpool’s 6th title and put them one behind AC Milan.

Salah could not quite explain his emotions as he was interviewed by BeIN Sports following the game; however, he claimed it is a mixture of pride and happiness.

“I don’t know what I can exactly say in this moment but I can say I am very happy with the victory and winning that title. This is a kind of things that doesn’t happen quite often,” Salah said.

“I have managed to achieve my dream which I was looking to fulfill since I was seven years old. I am extremely delighted,/”

The 26-year-old claimed was also full of honor being just the third Arab player to win the European title, behind Algeria’s Rabah Madjer and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi; however, he is determined to achieve more in the future.

“It is an great regard for me and now I will be looking forward to winning the title again next year and may become the first Arab to win it twice,” he exclaimed.

On taking the penalty in the first minutes of the game to put The Reds in front, Salah was reminiscent of old, saying: “I took the penalty that carried Egypt to the World Cup in the final minute. It is important to adapt to these situation.”

The Egyptian forward has been as well full of praise for VAR after its check confirmed Liverpool’s penalty in the first minute against Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko.

“Basically we are guaranteed VAR next season, but I like it now. So it is’s great to win the game,” Salah told BT Sports.
