Ali Ghazal confirms interest from several European clubs
Ghazal joined Portugal’s CD Feirense back in January coming from MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps, in an attempt to save them from relegation.
However in his 11 games his side lost eight times and drew the other three, meaning that they finished bottom of the Portuguese league table with just 20 points in 34 games.
Now that his contract with the Portuguese side is over, the 27-year-old will be looking to join a new club. He confirmed that several European clubs have approached him in an attempt to sign him in the upcoming transfer window.
“Several teams from Turkey, Ukraine and Portugal have shown interest in signing me. I want to join aa club that competes in a strong league,” Ghazal Al Hadath TV channel.
“For now my goal is to stay in Europe for the next season. But if there’s a lot of interest from local clubs, I might postpone it until next season,” he added.
Ghazal is set to represent Egypt in the upcoming African Cup of Nations as he was included in Javier Aguirre’s 25-man provisional squad. The Pharaohs were drawn in a fairly balanced group alongside Zimbabwe, DR Congo and Uganda.
