EXCLUSIVE: Greece’s AEK Athens bid for Al Ahly’s Mohamed Hany

Al Ahly defender is subject to a transfer bid from Greece giants who have a concrete interest in acquiring the player in the summer transfer window, KingFut can confirm.

Hany has had a decent output for Al Ahly this term and appeared in a good shape for the team. He registered two assists, scored a goal against Dakhleya in the Egyptian Premier League in 27 appearances for the Red Devils this season.

The 23-year-old right back missed out on six league games for Al Ahly between April and May, before returning to action in the Reds’ final league game before the break against Ismaily which ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

According to KingFut sources, AEK Athens have launched a formal bid to sign the Egypt international on loan with the option to buy him out permanently at the end of the season in a deal that would gain Al Ahly a total of €1.5M.

Hany was raised in Al Ahly’s youth sector and earned promotion to the first team since January 2015 and has been active since then.

The Cairo giants hold Ahmed Fathi along with Hany as the right backs in the first team’s ranks and itt remains to be seen how will they respond to the offer.

Ahly will never sell him because of their delusions of grandeur. Egyptian league seems to be the only one in Africa where its members believe they are on par with European leagues.
