Tunisia add local players to provisional AFCON squad

have added nine domestic based players to their squad for the Africa Cup of Nations after listing 21 players based outside the country previously.

In the lead up to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, Tunisia are looking to make the extra step up from their decent performances in previous years and win the competition for a second time.

Having already named their foreign based players to travel to Egypt, has now added nine players who ply their trade in the Tunisian Ligue 1, in part because the club season has only just finished for many of the clubs due to the Tunisian Cup final and the CAF Champions League final.

The players that have been added to the squad are Firas Chaouat, Nassim Hnid and Aymen Dahmen of , Moez Ben Cherifia, Ghailene Chaalali, Aymen Ben Mohamed, Taha Yassine Khenissi and Anice Badri of and Wajdi Kechrida of .

The squad will now be cropped down accordingly to comply with the 23 man squad regulations, following their pre tournament friendlies against Iraq, Croatia and Burundi respectively.

The Carthage Eagles then kick off their tournament against Angola in Suez on the 24th of June, before facing the West African duo of Mali and Mauritania to close out the group.
