Egypt AFCON opponents: DR Congo draw with Burkina Faso

’s group opponents played a dull 0-0 draw against in their preparations for the tournament.

The Pharaohs were placed in group A alongside Uganda, DR Congo, and Zimbabwe, with their opening game taking place against the latter on June 21.

The Leopards are expected to be Egypt’s toughest opponent in the group-stages, with the likes of Yannick Bolasie, Cédric Bakambu, Arthur Masuaku, Chancel Mbemba, and Giannelli Imbula in their ranks.

Their first preparation for the tournament took place against Burkina Faso, who failed to qualify for the final tournament, at the Municipal de Marbella stadium in Spain.

DR Congo failed to break Burkina Faso’s defence and settled for a 0-0 draw ahead of their final friendly against Kenya on June 15.

Zamalek loanee Kabongo Kasongo and Mazembe forward Jackson Muleka didn’t feature in the game due to visa issues.
