Egypt’s Olympic team fall for a second time against Uzbekistan

 have suffered a second successive defeat to  with 3-2 scoreline in their second friendly of the June international break.

Egypt sustained a 2-0 defeat to two days ago as part of their preparations ahead of the U-23 African Cup of Nations, which will kick-off next November in Egypt.

In case they managed to finish in the top three places, they will qualify for the 2020 Olympics, which will take place by the end of July 2020 in Tokyo, Japan.

Egypt XI: Mohamed Sobhy; Osama Galal, Mahmoud El-Gazar, Ahmed Ramadan Beckham, Ghanam Mohamed, Karim Yehia, Mohamed Sadek, Nasser Maher, Ammar Hamdy, Salah Mohsen, Mostafa Mohamed.

Islomzhon Kobilov opened the score for the hosts from the penalty spot after 17 minutes, before Aziz Ganiev doubled the lead for Uzbekistan in the second half. Bobur Abdukholikov secured the victory for his team with a third goal in the 66th minute.

The Pharaohs managed to get themselves back in the game with two goals from Ahmed Yasser Rayan and Mohamed Abdel-Salam in the 82nd and 92nd minutes respectively, but it was too late for them to take anything from the encounter.
