Former Pyramids FC owner acquires Spain’s Almeria
Former Pyramids FC owner Turki Al Sheikh has officially completed his takeover of Spanish club UD Almeria a month later after departing from the Egyptian Premier League club.
Turki Al-Shekih has prompted speculation a month prior to his club sale about his future in Egypt after a series of posts on his official Facebook page, and on Thursday it was confirmed that the club was sold to a fellow Gulf investor.
Egyptian side Assiouty Sport was sold back in June 2018 and renamed Pyramids FC, with Al-Sheikh becoming the new owner of the club.
The club signed a number of high profile players under the ownership of Al-Sheikh and went on to secure a top-three place in the Egyptian Premier League.
The former Saudi Sports Authority Chairman had previously announced on social media that he is getting ready for a new experience in football world, before it was confirmed on Friday he bought Almeria.
The Segunda Division side posted a picture through their official Twitter account of club president Alfonso García Gabarrón posing with Al-Sheikh, without including any further information, indicating that the acquisition deal has been completed.
