Cairo Derby in fourth round as 2019/20 Egyptian Premier League draw conducted
The league draw, which saw the participation of 18 teams, was held on the morning of Thursday, September 12.
The new season, which its starting date has yet to be decided, will witness the participation of FC Masr in the top flight for the first time ever after securing promotion along with Tanta and Aswan.
Al Ahly will commence their title defending campaign led by Swiss coach Rene Weiler with an intriguing meeting with Smouha in Alexandria, followed by their second round tie against Entag El-Harby before flying out to Aswan and facing Zamalek in Cairo derby for the fourth round game.
Meanwhile, Zamalek will look to bring the back the missing league title under the guidance of Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic. They will host Ittihad of Alexandria in league opener, face Misr El-Makkasa and FC Masr successively before derby with arch-rivals Al Ahly.
