Al Ahly, Zamalek discover Champions League groups

and discover their fates in the 2019-2020 group stage.

Zamalek have yet to secure their spot in the group stages as it has been decided that their final qualifying game against Generation Foot would be replayed.

If the Whites manage to come out of the game victorious they will be in Group A alongside Angola’s Primero de Agosto, five-time CL winner TP Mazembe and ZESCO United from Zambia.

As for Al Ahly, they were drawn in a tough Group B with the likes Etoile du Sahel from Tunisia, Sudanese giants Al Hilal as well as Zimbabwe’s FC Platinum.

The remaining two groups also included many African powerhouses with Group C containing former CL title winners, Wydad Casablanca and Mamelodi Sundowns, as well as USM Alger and Petro Luanda from Angola.

Meanwhile Group D will see North African trio Esperance Sportive de Tunis, Raja Casablanca and JS Kabylie fighting for qualification alongside DR Congo’s AS Vita Club.

CAF Champions League Groups:

Group A: Primero de Agosto (Angola), TP Mazembe (DR Congo) , Zamalek (Egypt)/Generation Foot (Senegal), ZESCO United (Zambia)

Group B: Etoile du Sahel (Tunisia), Al-Hilal (Sudan), FC Platinum (Zimbabwe), Al Ahly (Egypt)

Group C: USM Alger (Algeria), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Petro Luanda (Angola), Wydad Casablanca (Morocco)

Group D: Raja Casablanca (Morocco), JS Kabylie (Algeria), AS Vita Club (DR Congo), Esperance Sportive de Tunis (Tunisia)
