EFA announce referee for Egypt-Botswana friendly

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) have confirmed that Egyptian referee will officiate the Pharaohs’ clash against .

’s game against Botswana will be Hossam El-Badry’s first game in charge of the Pharaohs as he already named his 23-man squad.

The encounter was moved from the Cairo stadium to Borg El-Arab stadium in Alexandria for security reasons, with the EFA allowing 10,000 fans to attend the game.

EFA confirmed that Nour El-Din will be in charge of the game and will be accompanied by Ahmed Hossam and Samir Gamal as linesmen, and Ahmed El-Ghandour as the fourth official.

The last time Nour El-Din officiated a friendly game for Egypt was in 2016, where the Pharaohs defeated Burkina Faso 2-0, thanks to a brace from Abdullah El-Said.

As Hossam El-Badry prepares his side for the 2021 AFCON qualifiers, set to begin next month, the 59-year-old’s reign as Egypt’s head coach starts with a friendly against Botswana on Monday. Kick-off takes place at 19:00 CLT.
