Ivory Coast release squad ahead of U-23 AFCON

have announced their 21-man squad set to participate in the upcoming AFCON.

The U-23 AFCON will take place in Egypt between Novemeber 8th and November 22nd in Egypt. The organising committee chose El-Salam stadium and the Cairo International Stadium as the only venues for the tournament

Ivory Coast were drawn in quite a tough group with defending champions Nigeria as well as Zambia and South Africa.

Their first game will be against the Super Eagles on November 9th. They will the Bafana Bafana on November 12th and finally Zambia on the 15th.

The young Elephants have a very impressive selection of attacking players as Genoa’s top goalscorer this season with five goals, Christian Kouame, is among the 21 players included in the squad. While Celtic’s Vakoun Bayo also made the cut.

Chelsea goalkeeper Tie Nicolas Basile was also called-up along with Toulouse FC midfielder Ibrahim Sangare.
