Fantasy Premier League: Picks & Tips for Gameweek 23
With the first double gameweek of the season less than a week away, KingFut’s Fantasy Premier League (FPL) pundits offer transfer and captain tips for your squads ahead of Gameweek 23.
Mohamed Korain (@MKorain) is back following his vacation and returns alongside Omar Khairallah (@khairallax) to highlight captain choices, differentials and players to keep an eye out for in Gameweek 23. With under-the-radar players hitting the ground running, wildcards in our back-pockets and double gameweeks just around the corner, now is the perfect time to strategise for the remainder of the season.
Mohamed: I am back after a busy festive period; still holding inside the 20K overall rank. 16 GWs to go with four chips in hand. Bring it on!
Omar: Survived another cup game thanks to Brandon Williams coming on for me instead of Rico. I brought Sterling as a two-week punt until I bring Mane in for the DGW, but Pep roulette struck again. Hopefully he can make up for it against Palace. This GW is your last chance to prepare for the DGW and trying to bring a Liverpool trio, and maybe sneak in a West Ham player.
Gameweek 23 Preview:
Mohamed: Danny Ings (£6.8m) – The Saints hitman was in my ‘Watch’ section in my last article prior to the festive period. I guess it was a good pick as he is the most inform forward in the league right now. Southampton’s run of fixtures are lovely with only Liverpool till GW 30. A must-own right now.
Omar: Riyad Mahrez (£8.5m) – Pep keeps praising the Algerian star and he keeps performing whenever he’s on. I think for 8.5m you can take him sitting one or two games on the bench for the points he brings in per million.
Mohamed: Raheem Sterling (£11.8m) – Raheem has been out of form for quite a long period of time now. Mahrez is the No1 pick for Pep now. Avoid Raheem.
Omar: Raúl Jiménez (£7.5m) – Nuno Santos is not happy with his squad and Jiménez has been very inconsistent this season. I’d stay away for now, maybe until they strengthen the squad this window.
Mohamed: Leandro Trossard (£5.8m) – The good run of fixtures is key in this part of the season and Brighton has one of course. Trossard is expected to deliver within this period for sure.
Omar: Brandon Williams (£4.0m) – I’ve had him for quite some time and he keeps popping up with the points. He’s a good full back and with the magical 4.0 price tag, he can be a very good enabler.
Mohamed: Callum Hudson-Odoi (£5.3m) – With Pulisic out for several weeks according to Lampard, and the young winger starting to gain confidence again, Husdson-Odoi might be a bargain for just 5.3m if he maintains a place in the starting XI.
Omar: Lucas Moura (£7.1m) – With 4.9% ownership and Kane missing almost the rest of the season, Moura looks like he’ll be rotating with Son for the striker position. He can provide very good value relative to his price tag.
Mohamed: Kevin De Bruyne (£10.7m) – Crystal Palace have not been good defensively over the last three matches, and KdB at the Etihad is a monster. Vardy is good shout as well.
Omar: Mohamed Salah (£12.2m) – Last week I recommended Martial over Vardy, and this week I’m going a bit crazier and thinking that Salah will outscore Vardy. Desperate times, desperate measures.
