Ahmed Hassan Kouka scores as Olympiacos cruise past Panionios


Olympiacos defeated 4-0 on Saturday to extend their unbeaten run in the Greek Super League as played the full 90 minutes.

The Thrylos had a strong start to the game as they took the lead in the fourth minute through Ahmed Hassan Kouka, who netted his third goal for Olympiacos since rejoining them in January.

Kouka took a touch to bring the ball down in the box and volleyed it with his right foot into the bottom corner to make the score 1-0.

Two minutes later, Youssef El-Arabi doubled Olympiacos’ lead after capitalizing on a goalkeeping error by Matic Kotnik.

In the ninth minute, Olympiacos winger Kostas Fortounis dribbled past Ponionios defenders and wriggled his way into the box before slotting the ball into the net to score his side’s third.

Youssef El-Arabi was on the scene again for Olympiacos as he pounced on another defensive error by Ponionios and tapped home to score the fourth in the 24th minute.

The Moroccan almost scored a hat-trick in the 40th minute but his effort hit the post and went wide.

Olympiacos’ dominant victory extends their tally at the top of the Greek Super League to 60 points after 24 games played, two points ahead of PAOK Salonika.

Their next game will be at home on Thursday against Arsenal in the first leg of the Europa League’s round of 32. Kick-off takes place at 22:00 CLT.
