Egypt thrash Algeria 4-1 in U-20 Arab Cup opener
Egypt were drawn in Group C of the competition alongside hosts Saudi Arabia as well as continental rivals Algeria and Palestine.
In their opening game the Pharaohs managed to beat the Fennecs 4-1 after Osama Faisal completed a brace as he scored in the 7th minute then once again at the start of the second-half.
Algeria then reduced the deficit hanks to a Mohamed Bokrama goal in the 72nd minute.
Mahmoud Saber Abdulmuhsen then added Egypt’s third goal in the 83rd minute from a free-kick before Ibrahim Adel put the nail in the coffin with the fourth and final goal in the dying moments of the game.
Egypt are currently second in their group behind Saudi Arabia who beat Palestine 4-0 in their first encounter. Both sides will face each other in the second fixture on Friday, February 21st at the Prince Mohammad bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam.
