EXCLUSIVE | Sam Morsy discusses Amr Zaki’s time with Wigan, advises aspiring footballers (Part 2)

skipper talked about his toughest opponents, the best player’s he’s played with and gave advice for aspiring football players.

Morsy has played the majority of his career in the lower leagues of English football but started becoming known among Egyptian football fans thanks to his performances with the national team.

With the Pharaohs he got the opportunity to play against some of the best players in the World as he faced the likes of Belgium, Colombian and Uruguay.

Talking to KingFut, Morsy talked about the toughest opponent he’s faced and disclosed the most talented players he’s played with.

“The hardest player I’ve faced is Kevin De Bruyne when we played against Belgium in a friendly. In my opinion he’s the best midfielder in the world,” said Morsy.

“Salah is the best player I’ve played with but on club level it’s Chelsea’s Reece James, who was on loan at Wigan last season,” he added.

Morsy then talked about Zamalek and Egypt legend ’s time with the Wigan and revealed that fans speak fondly of his time The Latics.

“He [Amr Zaki]’s talked about really highly. He was an absolute animal, he was strong, physical, graceful and he scored a lot of goals. At one point the thought is that he was going to Liverpool

“Growing up I followed Manchester United and obviously Wolves as I was in their academy. And my favorite players were Roy Keane, Zidane and Xavi, I liked to watch these sort of players,” he continued.

Finally, he took the opportunity to give young footballers advice on how to succeed in one of the most competitive sports.

“You have to have consistency, dedication, all these buzz words, but you also have to keep doing the right thing and practicing.

“It’s up to you to put the time and develop a plan and a routine. If you mix your talent with hard work and dedication you’ll have a chance,” he concluded.
