Mohamed Elneny to stay at Besiktas until end of the season – Report
Elneny rediscovered his form after joining Besiktas on loan from Arsenal last summer, making a total of 28 appearances across all competitions this season.
Despite the 27-year-old’s good run of form, Elneny faced a setback with previous reports confirming that he threatened Besiktas to not play their remaining games until he is paid his dues.
It was also reported that Elneny is owed a total of €1.3 million but Besiktas are unable to pay this amount due to the current economic circumstances caused by the outbreak of COVID-19.
According to Turkish newspaper Aksam, Besiktas have resolved his wages issue as the Black Eagles paid Elneny half the amount he is owed.
The report also added that Arsenal warned Elneny that there would be consequences if he does not finish the season at Besiktas, where the North-London giants would not allow the Egyptian to leave for Olympiacos should the Greek side make an offer for the midfielder.
