ENPPI, Ittihad of Alexandria report COVID-19 cases


Egyptian Premier League sides ENPPI and have reported several cases among their players.

As Egyptian clubs are set to commence training sessions to prepare for the league’s return on July 25th. All their players must undergo the swab test, in accordance with Egyptian FA, to ensure the players’ safety.

Following the tests, ENPPI have announced that four people have tested positive including a worker, a member of the coaching staff and two players, including a youth player who was recently promoted to the first team.

The club said that they took all the precautionary measures and all of them are in good medical conditions. They also urged people not to seek the players’ name as it is an invasion of privacy.


Meanwhile, one Ittihad of Alexandria player tested positive however he remained anonymous in order to protect his privacy.

The club announced that they immediately put the player in self isolation and the club’s doctor, Amr El-Ashlam, took all the precautionary measures.

Many clubs including Zamalek, Ismaily, Al Masry and Wadi Degla publicly denounced the government’s decision regarding the resumption of the current season.

While others such as Al Ahly and FC Masr supported it as they believe it can beneficial.
