Egyptian FA change date for league resumption

The Egyptian FA () have revealed that the will resume on August 6th instead of August 7th.

League activity is set to return next month after a five-month suspension due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The competition was set to return on August 7th, per the EFA’s previous announcement, however the first games will take place a day earlier as security forces will be focused on organizing the Senate elections.

The organization of the encounters will remain the same as it will start with the postponed matches which will end by the end of August.

The schedule will be released in the coming days according to the head of the EFA’s Competition Committee, Hossam El-Zanaty.

The second phase, which will start depending on the CAF’s schedule, will probably take place by the start of September.

Meanwhile, the fate of the lower leagues hasn’t been decided yet.
