Ismaily and Egypt U23 winger has responded for the first time about Ajax’s interest in signing him.

Magdy is a 22-year-old winger, who plays for Ismaily since the summer of 2017, making over 60 appearances for the first-team.

However, it was his performances in the 2019 U23 AFCON which put him on the radars of many high profile clubs, most notably Al Ahly and Zamalek.

The Cairo giants are not the only ones interested in Magdy, as the player’s agent also revealed that his client’s form attracted the attention of many Dutch clubs, including giants Ajax Amsterdam and .


And today Magdy has revealed that he is yet receiving any officials offers, but is expecting his club to receive one from the Netherlands next week.

“I want to play abroad, especially that I am still young,” Magdy said.

“After the U23 AFCON, I have been offered by agents to many Dutch clubs like and Feyenoord.

“However, Ismaily haven’t received any offers yet, but I am expecting them to receive one during this week,” he added.

Magdy also revealed that he is not interested in joining either of the Cairo giants, Al Ahly or Zamalek, nor Pyramids FC, saying Ismaily is the only Egyptian club he will play for.

“With all due respect to Al Ahly and Zamalek, I only see myself at Ismaily. There were also interest from UAE’s Al Jazira after our game in the Arab Club Championship,” Magdy revealed.

Magdy has made 16 appearances for Ismaily this season, scoring once while assisting twice as the club currently sit ninth and were knocked out of the Egypt Cup in the round of 16.

On the international level, Magdy featured in all five games of the 2019 U23 AFCON, scoring a brace against South Africa in the semi-finals as the young Pharaohs went on to lift the title.

He also have one cap for the main national team, when Javier Aguirre handed him his international debut in a 1-1 draw with Niger in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers.
