OFFICIAL: Angola’s Wilson Eduardo joins Al-Ain

international forward, , has officially joined Emirati side Al-Ain coming from the Portuguese league where he represented .

Eduardo played for both Porto on Sporting Lisbon at the youth level but graduated Sporting’s academy in 2009 when he had his start for the first team.

However, the 30-year-old was unable to secure a lot of playing time and was sent on loan on seven occasions and played for several European clubs such as Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb and Dutch side ADO Den Haag.

He then secured a permanent move to Sporting’s league rivals SC Braga in 2015 on a free transfer where he remained until the end of the 2019-2020 season.

Eduardo, who played alongside Egypt international Ahmed Hassan Kouka, made 153 appearances for Braga making 71 direct goal contributions (46 goals and 25 assists) and helping them win the Portuguese Cup and the Portuguese League Cup.

He has now signed for Emirati powerhouse Al-Ain on a two-year deal with a reported €4 million fee.

He will be partnering up with yet another Egyptian, former PSG youngster Omar Yaisien who signed for Al-Ain last summer.

Despite having represented Portugal through all youth levels, Eduardo has five caps for Angola, most of them coming in the 2019 AFCON, and scored two goals in the 2019 and 2021 AFCON qualifiers.
