Al Ahly: FIFA ruling confirms rightness of our situation in Kahraba deal

Cairo giants Al Ahly have issued a statement commenting on the FIFA ruling regarding the lawsuit between club winger and arch rivals Zamalek, saying that the decision shows that Al Ahly’s stance was valid.

Zamalek announced that FIFA have ordered Kahraba to pay 33 million EGP to the Whites due to breaching his contract and fleeing the club.

Kahraba had went AWOL at Zamalek and failed to report back for his club’s pre-season preparations back in 2019 due to a disagreement over the validity of his contract at the club, joining Portuguese side Club Deportivo Aves and successively Al Ahly in the January window.

Kahraba took to Instagram to comment on the ruling, saying that all Zamalek’s requests including €9M fine, Kahraba’s suspension for six months and the punishment of Al Ahly and CD Aves were rejected, with FIFA settling only for a $2M fine to be paid between Kahraba and CD Aves.

“FIFA announced the validity of Al Ahly’s stance in the signing of Mahmoud Kahraba from CD Aves, and that the transfer was concluded in a legitimate way,” Al Ahly said in statement.

“This came as a response to the false accusations directed by Kahraba’s former club [Zamalek] in the matter while they know that Al Ahly only take the permissible routes.”
