Arsenal new signing paves way for Elneny’s departure

have officially announced the return of Spanish international and Real Madrid midfielder, , on another loan spell.

Despite a shaky start to his Arsenal career, Dani Ceballos proved his worth under Mikel Arteta after he recovered from his injury midway into the second part of the season.

Ceballos became a regular for the Gunners and even helped them lift the FA Cup after beating city rivals Chelsea in the final.

As a result, Arsenal have decided to keep the 24-year-old for another season on loan, without an option to buy, meaning that if they would like to make the move permanent they will have to negotiate a new contract.

This move goes along with the North London side’s clear goal to reshape their midfield by getting rid of some unused players and bringing in some new high caliber signings using the money earned from sold players.

The three players Arteta is reportedly looking to get rid of are Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira and .

These transfers might happen in order to purchase Atletico Madrid’s Tomas Partey, currently valued at around 50 million by his parent club.

Elneny had a solid season with Besiktas, helping them reach the Champions League qualifiers this season and was even one of the best performers in the squad during his two games back since returning to England.

The Egyptian scored a goal on his return against MK Dons followed by a spectacular performance against Liverpool in the Community Shield, which the Gunners won on penalties, with Elneny lifting his third trophy with the Gunners.

The former Basel man supposedly attracted the attention of many suitors lately, with the likes of Galatasaray, Trabzonspor, and Sampdoria currently racing for the 28-year-old’s signature.
