Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel sign Al Ahly youngster – Report
The Tunisian outfit have had an underwhelming season in the Ligue Professionnelle 1 as they are currently fifth with 37 points after 23 games.
Unlike the prior season, where Etoile du Sahel finished just two points behind champions Esperance, last year’s runners-up now trail the top of the standings by 18 points.
Additionally, Etoile du Sahel have also crashed out of the Tunisian Cup and the CAF Champions League following defeats to Etoile de Metlaoui and Wydad Casablanca respectively.
According to a report by Tunisian website foot24, Etoile have begun their summer business, signing Al Ahly youngster Mahmoud Saber.
The winger has reportedly agreed on a four-year contract with Etoile as he becomes their first summer signing.
The report also added that the 18-year-old attracted interest from top European sides including Ajax and Valencia before heading to Tunisia.
Saber had previously revealed that he received offers from Benfica and Scottish giants, Rangers, who submitted an offer to acquire the services of the Egyptian with manager Steven Gerrard looking to bring the winger to Ibrox Stadium.
It’s worth noting that Al Ahly have had a lack of width recently with their record-signing Hussein El-Shahat sidelined with an injury since June.
Ramadan Sobhi also seems to be on his way to league rivals Pyramids FC, as the latter reportedly offered EGP 100 million for the Huddersfield Town winger.
