Zamalek launch bid to sign Red Star Belgrade forward – Report
Zamalek have reportedly submitted a bid to sign Red Star Belgrade and Ghanaian forward Richmond Boakye in the current transfer window.
Boakye has been plying his trade at Red Star after rejoining the Serbian giants from Jiangsu Suning in the summer of 2018.
Despite an impressive scoring run of 13 goals in 18 games in his first season upon his return to Serbia, injuries have affected his spell with Red Star and the Ghanaian could be leaving the club again in the current transfer window.
According to a report by GhanaWeb, Zamalek are said to have launched an offer of $2m to acquire the services of Boakye.
The report also added that Boakye still has not accepted Zamalek’s offer despite talks going on smoothly between both clubs.
Boakye has represented several clubs in Europe, including Italian giants Genoa, Sassuolo, and Juventus.
On an international level, he has five goals in 10 caps for the Ghana national team while featuring in their AFCON and World Cup qualifiers.
